I am 62 years old and married to a wonderful person (we are poly). When my spouse and I first met and started dating we began an ANR journey together, and it has been absolutely wonderful. Things have changed and priorities have shifted. We discussed recently that because nursing is a deep-seated need within me, they suggested that I consider looking for a nursing partner.


First, I would like to spend a little time and talk about what nursing means to me, and what I receive from the act of suckling at a person’s breast. Breastfeeding is a magical, spiritual and ritualistic experience for me, that raises my emotional wellbeing. It generates a sense of calming, peacefulness and elation from deep down within my core that I struggle to find words to describe. It also stirs a powerful, wonder feeling of connection. Not to mention the impenetrable bubble that forms around the two of us, with sensations of floating on a gentle breeze as the rest of the world melts away. Whether there is actual milk or not, there is something so much more that happens when latched on – there is an energy transfer…a life force emanating from deep within my partner, flowing through their nipple and into me that powers me.


So, how does all this weave into the relationship? After being in an ANR, I discovered about myself I will grow attached very quickly to that person. So the long answer in short is that I think I am very flexible as to what the relationship part of the ANR is. What do I mean by that? My hope is to find a relationship that is simply two people that come together to share this amazing experience. I am also open to exploring new frontiers. I do think it is important to me say that ANR to me is not pickup play or one and done or transactional. It is something much, much more. The person I nurse from I want in my life, and I want to nurture and celebrate the closeness and feeling of connection that breastfeeding creates with that person…a relationship.


The ANR I hope to find would allow us to get together on a very regular basis. The frequency I am looking for would be at least once every other week, if not more. Recent changes in my life have freed up considerable chunks of my time and affords me flexibility. I can host and I can also travel to you.
